Birthing dolls are educational tools that demonstrate normal, natural birth, breastfeeding and bonding. They can also be used to help prepare children for the arrival of new siblings. They’re often used by Birthing and Breastfeeding professionals and make fantastic toys for Play therapy. What do you think?
1 - Birthing & Breastfeeding MamAmor Doll
IRIS is a very unique MamAmor Doll, she can give birth and breastfeed her newborn baby. Her baby comes with placenta, cord, diaper and receiving blanket. ($160)
2 - Frida doll
My favourite. This doll represents a pregnant mother that gives birth and breastfeeds her baby. With her children have the chance, throughout symbolic play, to get closer to a process as important and deep as the birth of a little brother/sister.
Well, what can I say? She is about 7″ tall. Unlike real life, the baby can be re-inserted! The baby is connected by a braided umbilical cord to the top of the womb. ($50)
This pregnant/birthing/nursing doll comes complete with baby (obviously), clear fasteners to allow baby doll to latch on to feed, placenta/amniotic sac with umbilical cord, clothes for mum and baby and a sling for baby wearing. ($120)
Fancy making one yourself? This one is anatomically correct, as is her newborn son! Her embellishments include a wedding ring, earrings and necklace and her son has a tiny belly button, made with a real button to which the umbilical cord attaches. ($15)
And this one is just a little crazy but I just has to add it.
I really don’t know what to say about it!
